One of three “Mule Train” recordings released in competition to Frankie Laine’s #1 version that reached the pop top-ten sales chart (see Bing Crosby and Tennessee Ernie Ford). The Republic picture “Singing Guns” credited on the label did not introduce the song “Mule Train” but refers to a Monroe western film that would not be released to theaters until late February 1950.
