Description
The Magic Mirror is the last ballet choreographed by the legendary Marius Petipa. The music was composed by Arseny Koreshchenko between 1902 and 1903. The libretto, written by Petipa himself, was inspired by Pushkin’s poem The Tale of the Dead Princess and the Seven Knights and the Brothers Grimm’s fairy tale Snow White.
The ballet unfolds over four acts and seven scenes, running approximately two and a half hours, with elaborate orchestration and traditional romantic ballet style reflective of the early 20th century.
