Gogi reached #1 in the US and #9 in the UK with this superb version of 'The Wayward Wind' in 1956, the arrangement was by Buddy Bregman who with his strings and horns gave this a wonderful sound.
Gogi's biggest hit beat off all other versions in the US with only Tex Ritter charting one place above her in the UK at #8 (uploaded).
Jimmy Young reached #27 and Shirley Bassey didn't chart with her recording which was her second single (uploaded).
In 1963 Frank Ifield took the song to #1 in the UK.
