I've always said that 1979 was a great year for me when it comes to pop songs, and this was one of them, which was also one of my favorites for that year--it's by singer-songwriter and producer Lauren Wood, which also features Michael McDonald of The Doobie Brothers singing background vocals. Please Don't Leave peaked at #25 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart in December 1979, and it's another of those songs that I thought deserved to be a bigger hit.
