Description
The Revolting Cocks can certainly be called the first supergroup of EBM. The band was founded at the end of 1984 and initially consisted of Luc van Acker, Al Jourgensen and Richard 23, who had met Al Jourgensen during the preparations for the first Front 242 tour in the States. After returning to Belgium, Richard 23 inspired Luc van Acker with the idea of the Revolting Cocks, and as a result the fantastic album "Big Sexy Land" was released in 1986. Unfortunately, this was the only album in this band composition, because Richard left the band that very year after a discussion with Al Jourgensen. In the following years the Revco sound developed towards Industrial Rock more and more.
"We Shall Cleanse the World" is certainly one of the strongest songs on this album, because it unites everything that makes the unique sound of this work - strong beats, aggressive vocals and Luc van Acker's distinctive bass playing.
